From aspiration to career success
Chloe began her journey with Edge in March 2016, seeking a change and new opportunities. Working closely with her Job Coach, Chloe identified her career aspiration of becoming an Administration Assistant.
Chloe found her ideal role through persistence and collaboration with her Local Area Coordinator. She applied for various positions and after a successful interview, secured a six-month contract with the Department of Communities. This opportunity aligned perfectly with her long-term goal of gaining part-time administrative employment.
With ongoing support from Edge, Chloe successfully transitioned into her role. Edge provided her with the resources and guidance needed to navigate the workplace, including on-the-job support, learning new skills, and building her capacity. This partnership enabled Chloe to sustain her position and grow within the department, eventually securing a permanent contract.
Chloe is happy to say, it’s a job she loves. “I love everything about my job because of all the support that is available when I need it. I enjoy my tasks, and if I find anything challenging, I know my Job Coach from Edge can assist me and work through this together. It makes me happy to have such a supportive team at work and with Edge Employment Solutions.”
Chloe’s role as an Administration Assistant includes a variety of tasks, from data entry and word processing to helping with on-boarding new staff. Her supportive work environment, where she shares laughs with colleagues and feels included, dramatically influences her job satisfaction.
Gaining independence and confidence are key results of employment. For Chloe, finding employment has been life-changing.
She is thrilled to earn her own money, allowing her financial independence to buy things for herself and enjoy holidays.
Chloe declares that, “Securing employment as an Admin Assistant was my long-term goal, and I was very fortunate to find this role and receive the support to sustain the position. It has given me a sense of purpose and something to get up for.”
Over the years, Chloe has developed new skills and become more confident and independent. Edge has been instrumental in helping her maintain her position, offering support as she transitioned from short-term contracts to a permanent role.
