School to work transitions
Project Employment has become important to so many of our clients’ lives, small steps to continue to move in a better direction towards employment. Zandyn is one of those clients.
When Zandyn joined Project Employment in Term 1, he was in Year 10 and was a very shy 15-year-old.
During the first week of the program, Zandyn didn’t talk a whole lot as he was nervous, but as the weeks went on, Holly, his Consultant, slowly yet surely started to see his great personality come through!
With that personality starting to show, along came a great ambition for work and the future. Zandyn started helping his brother out at his painting business for the last year and loved the hands-on aspect of it. He was struggling to go to school often due to his high anxiety, but since his Consultant Holly has been working with him, they have secured paid work at a McDonald’s store near his house.
On top of this placement, Edge has supported Zandyn as he applied for and has been accepted to SEDA, specialising in Construction starting in 2025. He has been approved to go into that program while weighing up his options regarding a cyber security course.
Within the past year, Zandyn also completed his Certificate 2 in Retail. He has excelled since enrolling in Project Employment and said he “loved the program” as well as the support he has received.
