Sean’s Spudshed Success

Sean wasn’t sure how to start his employment journey and after a conversation with his School Counsellor, he was recommended Edge’s services. The Edge team worked with Sean to find him meaningful and suitable employment.

Over the past year and a half, Sean has flourished in his role at Spudshed Spearwood and experienced firsthand the power of employment. “Having a job has helped me financially be more independent and helped my confidence with interacting with people. Working helps me to go further in my studies.”

After being fearful of not finding a job, Sean is grateful to the Edge team. “Edge’s support made it easier, reduced the stress around applying for a job and also settling into the job. They helped with interviews and the whole process. They also reduced my fear of losing my job and reassured me that I was performing well.

Edge helped with my communication with managers and staff. They helped build my confidence, encouraged me and made me feel supported. They assisted with pay, banking and my tax file number.”

Working as a Team Member is something Sean thoroughly enjoys. “It is easy going and an important industry. Working also helps me practice my communication skills. The staff are nice, and my managers are supportive and understanding. They are friendly and have flexibility with shifts.”
