Transitions and celebrations
Moving to a new place and starting work in a new store can be daunting, but it can also turn out to be the start of an amazing new journey.
That’s what happened to Cassie. Two years ago, Cassie and her family moved house, which meant Cassie moved from her job at Woolworths in Eaton to a new Woolworths store in Mundaring. It was at this time that Cassie reached out to Edge so they could work together to make the transition seamless.
Daniel, Edge Job Coach, supports Cassie in her day-to-day work life. Cassie states that Daniel comes in to see how she is doing and how she is going with her daily tasks, and supports her with settling into her new workplace.
“It helps me to have someone check in on me and make sure I am going alright.”
Edge has supported Cassie for the past two years with regular visits, initially to oversee Cassie settling into the new store and then supporting her with developing skills and discussing implementing new tasks with her manager Poppy, as Cassie progresses in her role.
Daniel couldn’t be prouder of Cassie’s achievements, “Her confidence and skills in the workplace are continuously growing.” It just so happens that Cassie recently celebrated a very special milestone.
“Today, we celebrated my 15 years of service!” Said Cassie as she beamed with delight at her Woolworths work anniversary. Cassie has had some really supportive teammates, such as Tina, who have helped her along her journey. “I love the people I work with,” Cassie continued “I enjoy working and am proud of my 15 years of service.”
Cassie also speaks highly of the support she receives from Poppy her manager. “Poppy is easy going and kind,” which is important to long term employment success. Cassie was especially excited about the events last week. “Poppy put on a morning tea today to celebrate my 15-year anniversary at Woolworths. She lets me help in deciding around some of the tasks I learn around the store.”
With support from Edge and managers like Poppy, Cassie will continue to grow and develop in her career.
