Unlocking potential

At Edge, we are proud to be on the journey with individuals who are not only finding employment but discovering their potential. One of these clients is Shanna. Shanna began her employment journey with us back in 2014 through our School-to-Work Transition Program. After completing our program and gaining valuable work experience, Shanna went on to secure her first position in paid employment.

Fast forward to today, and Shanna is now working in an exciting role as a Barista and Counter Hand at Mondo Direct Butcher in Belmont.

For Shanna, finding employment has been life changing. “It got me out of the house and makes me be out in society. It pushes my comfort zone and gives me financial independence,” she shares.

“Edge has been crucial in helping me gain employment and in overcoming the anxiety of the employment process and a new work environment. They have helped me to build my confidence and have made me feel supported every step of the way,” said Shanna.

Shanna’s hard work and dedication is appreciated by her Manager, Cyon. “Shanna is an amazing member of the team. She is reliable and makes work more enjoyable,” Cyon also commented on Edge’s support, “Support from Edge has been extremely beneficial, as having someone to contact who can answer questions and give advice has been a huge help.”

Shanna credits the supportive team environment at Mondo Direct Butcher for making her job even more enjoyable. “I love the laughs, the team environment, customer interaction and supportive management. We all get along, we work as a team and it is a fun, supportive and encouraging environment,” she says.

Looking back, Shanna is grateful for the journey she has been on and the growth she has experienced. “Edge has been there for me every step of the way, not just in finding employment, but in developing skills and boosting my confidence,” Shanna reflects.
